Frequently asked questions
Common questions
Do my votes actually count?
Yes. Every click updates real server-side counters, in real time. You'll see the percentage shift after your vote, though some lag is possible because we cache aggregates for 30 seconds.
Can I vote more than once?
You have one active vote at a time. You can change it by clicking another option, or cancel it by clicking the same option twice. If you clear your browser storage, the site forgets you and you can vote again — but this is a quirk, not a feature, and we don't encourage it.
How is my country detected?
Your IP address is geolocated at the edge (by our host, Vercel) to a 2-letter country code. Your IP is then hashed with SHA-256 and a secret salt for rate limiting — this hash expires within 60 seconds and cannot be reversed back to your IP. The original IP is never stored. If you're on a VPN, you'll show up in the VPN's country.
Why don't you have accounts?
Because we don't need them. This is a poll, not a social network. No accounts means no passwords, no phishing, and nothing to breach.
Are the results statistically valid?
Absolutely not. This is a self-selected internet poll with no attempt at representative sampling. It's still interesting.
Why do you show ads?
To keep the site online. Hosting costs money even at our scale. Ads are served by Google AdSense with your consent (in regions where consent is required). We don't sell or share any data about you to run them.
Can I embed the results on my site?
Not as a formal embed yet, but feel free to link, screenshot, or quote percentages.
How do I delete my data?
Clear your browser's localStorage for this site. That's everything we have associated with you. Our aggregated counters include your contribution but can't be traced back to you individually.
Is this a simulation?
We don't know either.
